WINDOWS SERVER ENGINEER - TIER I RuffaloCODY
The primary function of the Windows Server Engineer will be to assist in the engineering/design and Tier 1/2 level support including day-to-day troubleshooting and administration for the RuffaloCODY Microsoft Windows Server. This position will also include support of the networking environments in the RuffaloCODY Atlanta Regional Office. A secondary function will be providing desktop support to users in the Atlanta office.
Reports to: Lead Windows Server Engineer
Work with Desktop Support on high level technical issues as well as providing physical desktop support to users in the Atlanta Office.
Work with IT staff located at headquarters, (Cedar Rapids,IA) in the development, design and deployment of new technologies and systems at RuffaloCODY.
Knowledge of deploying and maintaining applications that use the Microsoft Server including distributed implementations of Microsoft applications.
Day to Day maintenance of servers and applications related to the Atlanta Office and assistance with Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, Active Directory, VMware and other software packages.
Work with the application infrastructure team to coordinate and manage the application deployment in a partner data center.
Work and Track Support Tickets as needed.
Ability to create documentation for End Users and other support staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: (Education, Licenses/Certifications, Skills and Work Experience)
Excellent communications skills.
Good writing skills to document policies and procedures that will be used by other teams.
Firm understanding of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
Firm understanding of Microsoft Exchange Messaging Platform.
Firm understanding of Windows Networking and ability to assist Cedar Rapids IT Staff with network routing setup.
Ability to independently solve problems and be proactive in suggesting improvements.
Associate Degree and a minimum of 2 years prior Windows Server engineering/Systems management or equivalent work experience is necessary.
Savvy technical skills coupled with an eagerness to learn.
Must be end user focused and able to achieve a quality end user experience.
Infrequent light physical effort required
Must be able to work in an environment where the noise level is moderate
Prior experience or certification with MS Great Plains and/or Dynamics CRM is a plus.
MCSE and VCP Certifications desired
