Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, day to day management and maintenance of the Windows Servers and JBOSS application servers.
The Systems Engineer will provide technical assistance to the System Team. The Engineer will be responsible for system design, stability, engineering, and troubleshooting. This responsibility encompasses the full range of Information Technology (IT) activities.
This professional will provide tier 1 & 2 support for current Windows. Work with Engineering on process, standards, and configuration management. Support and maintain all aspects of the AD and Exchange, including managing DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, External and Internal Authentication as well as the hardware infrastructure for this environment. Tasks will include duties such as enterprise documentation and planning. Serve as a technical contributor to all Windows enterprise and JBOSS related projects and initiatives.
The applicant will be responsible for technologies which support external and internal customers. These customers are vital to the growth of the company and the position requires great customer service skills.
Qualifications:
5+ years working as a Windows/Systems Engineer
Works well independently with little supervision
Must have sound experience handling JBOSS application servers
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of DNS, NTP
Perform troubleshooting of Windows and JBOSS environment
Perform server installations and application installs
Posses the ability to multi-task
Works well independently
Ability to quickly learn business application or product being developed
Have the ability to learn new applications/tools quickly
Solid problem solving ability
Additional skills but not required:
Windows/Linux/UNIX scripting
Oracle, MySQL, DB2 skills
Knowledge of virtualization
Knowledge of transactional based systems
Knowledge of Base24 is a plus
