Essential Job Description:
Manage multi-disciplinary development teams and regularly monitor project costs, schedule and resources.
Work with Program Management staff to create and maintain project schedules, budgets and track actual performance against planned performance.
Work with Product Management staff to understand product requirements and ensure that design goals are met.
Work with Engineering and Manufacturing staff to develop accurate bills-of-materials, establish product costs, identify long-lead components, and ensure a successful transition from design to manufacturing.
Provide clear and timely communication to the team regarding project goals and milestones.
Understand the critical path(s) and dependencies and manage potential risks as far in advance as possible.
Identify potential changes to project goals and scope, communicate changes to the organization and determine impact on cost, schedule, and resources.
Provide regular status updates via roadmap review meetings
Effectively manage a development team that resides in multiple locations.
Complete required documentation at various project milestones.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering preferable
7+ years experience as a Project Manager in a product development environment
Experience with and knowledge of wireless technology
Experience in creating an effective team environment, building strong relationships, negotiation, solving problems and issues, resolving conflicts, managing resources in a matrix environment and communicating effectively at all levels of the organization.
Experience working with Asian suppliers a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to lead development teams and foster high team morale
Ability to communicate effectively with technical development teams as well as executive-level personnel
Hands-on management approach with strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
Ability to evaluate situations, make difficult decisions, and act in a proactive manner
Strong interpersonal skills that instill trust, respect, and high personal work standards.
High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Music background a plus
