The Wireless Systems Performance Engineer will be responsible for deploying and maintaining wireless test networks required for the performance characterization of new designs (RF hardware and SW algorithm), developing data collection test tools, and performing data collection and data analysis activities in support of select advanced feature development projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior development engineers during the critical stages of new product/feature development, interactively working to gather performance data and design new test methodologies to provide direct feedback into the design process therefore ensuring rapid convergence and design optimization.
Strong familiarity with switched and routed network topologies and protocols along with hands on experience with either the development or testing of 802.11 networks is required. Data analysis activities require solid analytic skills and familiarity with statistics. Familiarity with topics related to the RF physical layer such as rate adaptation, modulation methods, RF propagation and pathloss calculations, and antenna pattern characteristics is a significant plus.
The successful candidate must have a stable job history with prior experience working in commercial product development environments.
