We are currently searching for a Writer Applications Coordinator to join our Content Quality Control Team.
Responsibilities:
Review applicant writing samples and credentials
Assess writer potential, grant writing privileges to highest-potential candidates
Orient and evaluate approved writers via assignments and detailed feedback
Educate writers about applicable opportunities for growth/advancement
Evaluate at-risk writers in danger of losing writing privileges
Participate in additional quality review efforts during key events and specific weekends
Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelor?s degree in English, Journalism, Education or other related field
2+ years relevant experience in editorial, teaching or other related field preferred
Exceptional knowledge across all major sports
Exceptional knowledge of journalistic ethics and standards
Experience evaluating writing for grammar/style/usage/voice/originality
Experience working in digital media, including familiarity with search engine optimization
Experience managing spreadsheets and Google Documents
Excellent communication skills while working within a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and in teams, utilizing Skype, phone, gchat and email
Proximity to San Francisco or New York office strongly preferred
