Department: Author Marketing Services
Reports to: Director, Author Marketing Services
Write press releases for all ASI brands. The writer is accountable for and creates multiple press releases each week, contacts authors regarding content occasionally edits the writing of other writers, maintains databases and records and performs other duties as assigned.
The writer also drafts ad copy and catalog copy. The writer is accountable for creating and delivering solutions for authors, communicates with authors, the AMS department, and other ASI departments such as Sales, Production and Editorial.
Will create and deliver 20 press releases per week. Edit as many additional releases as necessary.
Will create and deliver solutions for authors copy, catalog copy, and event press releases.
Correspond with authors and answers questions about edits, the purpose of press releases, etc.
Meet expectations regarding work requirements, procedures, and daily duties.
Will address problems and look for positive resolutions to tackle them.
Will comprehend problems, and make the proper analysis to provide decisive action.
Will analyze the root cause of situations and provide critical thinking for further action.
Listens attentively to fully understand and address customers? enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
Will present ideas/convey messages to customers in a professional and credible manner.
Demonstrate customer-focus, and understands the needs of customers so as to provide quality services.
Maintain database records.
Education: Degree in English, Journalism, or Communications preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years writing experience required. Knowledge of PC Windows-based and database applications.
Specific Skills: Superior knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook e-mail, Internet use, and typing skills at 50 WPM
Physical Skill: Sufficient manual and digital dexterity to work with a computer, keyboard, mouse, monitor, and phone pad.
Working Conditions: 8:00 am ? 5:00 pm core schedule with frequent flexibility for start and ending times.
Additional hours and/or overtime depending on the position may be required due to business needs. Other duties may be assigned as required.
