JOB SUMMARY
The Writer/Journalist/MarComm performs copywriting, journalism and project management duties as they relate to promoting thought leadership around the products and services that support the contact center area of Nexidia?s business model. This position may also assist with marketing related to the overall corporate message of Nexidia.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Write, edit and produce all marketing related pieces needed to promote Nexidia?s social media and thought leadership outreach program including but not limited to blogs, white papers, press releases, interviews, webinars and customer facing presentations.
Work directly with Director of Marketing and Social Media Coordinator to manage, develop and adhere to editorial calendar.
Work with internal team members including executives, product management, sales, and service professionals to extract knowledge that will form the base for content.
Serve as guide to help internal team members add their personal style and voice to blogs and other communication pieces.
Utilize journalism skills to interview customers at both the user and executive level as well as analysts to obtain success stories, quotes and other content. Develop the interview questions to guide the conversation.
Develop moderator guides for use in forums, roundtables, podcasts and other events where Nexidia wants to serve as a discussion facilitator. Where necessary, serve as moderator or group leader.
Work with Director of Marketing to ensure all content created adheres to Nexidia standards, promotes Nexidia message and brand and secures Nexidia as a thought leader in the customer interaction analytics space.
Researches opportunities with vendors, analysts and other third parties for cross promotion and content placement.
Works to secure supporting content from 3rd party sources such as analysts.
Finds supporting research to enhance blogs, whitepapers, webinars and other communication pieces.
Works with Social Media coordinator to maintain internal library of all new content.
Understands and adheres to Nexidia compliance standards as they appear in the Employee Handbook, Corporate Compliance Policies, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Writes and produces press releases.
Writes and produces internal communications as needed.
Writes and produces additional customer facing communications including but not limited to: buyer?s guides, discussion guides, newsletters, invitations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Superior writing and editing skills
Ability to work with internal team members and provide correct level of support to help them contribute to content in the most time effective ways possible
Ability to write in a variety of voices and styles ranging from formal research pieces to informal blogging
Ability to understand complex technical information and translate that into easy to understand communications pieces
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook as well as WordPress
Knowledge of web systems including CMS
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Ability to interface with senior level executives
Strong self-starting abilities and ability to tackle projects with minimal up-front direction
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Analytical thinking and problem solving skills along with attention to detail
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor?s degree in Communications or Journalism required
4-7 years in progressive copywriting and marketing roles
Experience with technical, business to business companies
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical Demands: Some overnight travel by car or plane may be required. Some tradeshow work including extended periods of standing on one?s feet may be required.
Work Environment: Professional office environment that is entrepreneurial, creative, innovative, team-oriented, inspiring, diverse and challenging with dedication to creating and developing cutting-edge business solutions for our customers. Working conditions are normal for an office environment; work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
Travel: Up to 20% overnight travel may be required.
