Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. (MBI) is a fast growing, venture-backed company in the fields of Agriculture and Water. MBI discovers, develops, and markets natural products that fill unmet needs for pest, weed, disease and invasive species control. MBI is hiring a Zequanox Open Water Coordinator. This position will provide technical support for developing open water applications of Zequanox and developing invasive mussel control plans, coordination with potential customers and state and local authorities and environmental groups. This position will report directly to MBI's Zequanox Project Manager and will work closely with the field application team. MBI is primarily looking for someone to support pending and future open water work in the Mid-West but location is negotiable.
The QCS should possess experience in manufacturing, manufacturing quality systems, GLP, and new product quality planning. The QCS will ensure that all products, both early stage and commercial, meet customer, partner and company requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Developing product application for open water and understanding associated equipment and technologies that are optimum for Zequanox open water application.
Developing and implementing field application and invasive mussel control plans as part of product development and ultimately for customer sales.
Communicating product development and commercialization to US Fish and Wildlife, State Fish and Game Departments, Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Groups and other interested parties.
Implementing and managing mussel control treatments for Zequanox customers (and application development partners).
Assisting in start-up of pre-sales demonstration trials, gathering and organizing data on product performance, and evaluating pre and post treatment data.
Developing a database to track data, analyze the results and provide a standardized report for demonstration trials and mussel control treatments.
Coordinating technology and engineering support for Sales.
Travel is estimated to be 50 - 60 throughout North America to attend meetings and conduct field trials. This position requires that you obtain your aquatic pesticide applicators license within 1 year of your hire date. MBI will pay for and provide details needed for the license.
Minimum Qualifications and Characteristics:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, environmental management, or water resources and five (5) years experience of water resource management, invasive species control, environmental restoration or other similarly related field. An ideal candidate will have worked on projects that integrated environmental, commercial, and state interests. In addition, the individual should have:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
A valid driver's license and ability to travel outside of the country.
Comfortable operating boats and equipment in and around water
Effective communication skills to interact with potential clients. Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English at a high level of proficiency.
Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with company staff and management.
Ability to work in a wide range of environmental conditions (on and in the water) and perform strenuous activity (including lifting up to 50 lbs).
Highly-motivated to accomplish needed tasks with a sense of urgency.

Compensation:
The salary range is competitive. MBI offers a comprehensive benefits package including stock options, a 401(K) plan with up to a 4 match, a health plan including medical and dental coverage (100 for employee and 50 for dependents), life insurance coverage, long term disability, and a flexible spending account for dependent child care or medical expenses. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual cash bonus and stock options, which are tied to individual and company performance goals.
