Venture backed and headquartered in Davis, California, the company focuses on discovering, developing, and marketing natural pest management products for the effective control of pests, weeds, plant diseases, and invasive species.
MBI is hiring a Zequanox Technical Service Engineer/Scientist that will support the Zequanox commercial application and development teams. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: planning, estimating, designing application systems, conducting on-site treatments, training, sales support, project management, collecting and analyzing data, preparing and presenting final reports for customer invasive mussel control treatments and contribute to team projects. Customer sites and development projects are located throughout North America and potentially other countries.
This position will report directly to MBI?s Zequanox Technical Service Manager and will work closely with MBI?s development and water sales teams to optimize product development and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include:
Field work and travel is required and estimated to be 75% throughout North America.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Planning, managing and implementing mussel control treatments with Zequanox.
Provide support for all Zequanox customers both external and internal.
Conducting on-site treatment applications both demonstration and full-scale.
Regular monitoring of treatments and studies at customer and field sites.
Design and management of mixing/application equipment, inventory and maintenance.
Developing standard operation procedures for both customer treatments and research.
Gathering and organizing data on product performance, and evaluating pre and post treatment data.
Preparing estimates, proposal and reports for aquatic product applications.
Support of all team projects.
This position requires that you obtain your aquatic pesticide applicators license within 1 year of your hire date.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor?s degree in engineering, science, technology or related field plus four (4) years? experience or a Master?s degree and two (2) years of experience in design, planning, project management or operation in the industrial, water, or wastewater treatment industry. The ideal candidate will have previously participated in aquatic field research and/or experience in water treatment operations. A candidate with CPR/First Aid training and SCUBA certification is also desired. Demonstrated project management experience is a plus.
In addition, the individual should have:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, with advanced proficiency in excel or other statistical software.
A valid driver?s license and ability to travel outside of the country (valid passport).
Effective communication skills to interact with customers.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English at a high level of proficiency.
Ability to work harmoniously and effectively within the Zequanox team.
Highly motivated to accomplish assigned and needed tasks.
Perform and produce desired results with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Demonstrate the ability to work hard and sometimes long hours in the field with minimal supervision. Work locations are typically outdoors ? potentially on and in the water. Environmental conditions can vary from below freezing to above 100 degrees, noise level can be elevated, and work surfaces may be wet, slippery and uneven. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds is required. Travel is estimated to be 75% throughout North America with potential for overseas projects. Ability and willingness to travel and work in a field/industrial environment is an essential job requirement.
