The average iphone user has 108 apps installed. Many of these are review or recommendations apps, and because each app deals with a specific niche like restaurants or movies the user needs several to cover the full range of their interests. More importantly, review sites just aren't a good way to connect consumers with local businesses. Why Businesses and their competitors post fake reviews, so it's hard to know which reviews are real, and which to trust. By revealing the context of each recommendation, HeyLets makes it easy and fun to find trusted local recommendations.
Businesses also benefit. Social networks emphasise the links between people, commercial messages interrupt the conversation and aren't welcome. By building communities around experiences, many of which take places at local businesses, the commercial message becomes part of the conversation.
