Basic Function: The Java Software Engineer will support client demand and enhance our product development. A great software engineer candidate will develop and extend our existing solutions based on internal and client requirements. Specifics include:
Developing and documenting use case scenarios
Developing domain and data models
Developing prototypes for application design
Successful execution of this role will require a dynamic and agile self-starter who can work independently to quickly implement software solutions. We prefer candidates with a diverse set of experiences, who have the ability to develop elegant and efficient solutions to complex business problems. This is an ideal position for candidates who are inherently curious and have a thirst for learning new technologies and expanding their skill set. As a member of the team, you will have responsibility for the full life cycle development, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of our platforms.
Principal Accountabilities:
Web Application development (including javascript / jquery)
Learn and build an expertise in a new and emerging field of telematics
Develop comprehensive APIs for use by third party developers and partners
Develop and design complex systems involving large data sets
Work with Agile development practices.
Qualifications/Experience:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience with Java programming language
Experience in designing and architecting systems
Working knowledge of any major RDBMS (preferably MySql)
Strong SQL capabilities
Working knowledge of messaging APIs.
Experience working with Linux, Tomcat, Apache
Experience working with MyBatis, Spring Framework, Spring MVC, Spring Integration and Spring Batch
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
7 years experience in the IT industry
5 years experience in a role of Java developer
1+ years experience in an architecture/design role
