Application Operations Engineer Cequint
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED This role will be a key support service delivery point for the ongoing successful deployment of Cequint products. Resolution of customer issues may involve code error diagnosis, systems engineering, testing, validation and implementation. The Nework Operations Engineer must be able to quickly debug and troubleshoot productions systems 24/7 on call when necessary
Application and Website administration
Application, internal tools and OS deployment
Design input and review for our Web Applications
Troubleshooting software issues and doing impact analysis
Documenting Operational Procedures
Research, design, develop and implement solutions for fault tolerance, performance enhancement, capacity optimization, and configuration management for applications.
Interface with Development teams to resolve 'in code' issues.
Basic knowledge of code repository like subversion, git
Maintain a high degree of involvement with Infrastructure teams regarding application needs or repercussions of infrastructure changes.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline 5 years in a technical role involving applications operation, preferably in a 24x7x365 production environment. Or, any similar combination of education or experience.
6 + years of Internet network, protocols and associated services (TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP/SFTP, SCP, DNS, rsync, nmap, nc).
Understanding of Load Balancing, clustering, and web caching technologies
Linux and Windows operating systems administration. Should be familiar with high availability configurations, security and patch management. Experience managing large Linux and Windows server fleets highly desired.
Experience using, installing and administering the following software packages: Linux (CentOS/Redhat), Apache, MySQL, rpm/yum and PHP. Experience with MS Windows Server x32 and x64, VMWare.
Knowledge Scripting tools, such as Perl, Shell, Ruby or similar.
Scripting experience to produce solutions and perform troubleshooting.
Experience using monitoring tools like NAGIOS helpful
Strong, methodical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to maintain own workflow, prioritizes with respect to departmental or organizational priorities, and complete work with minimal supervision. Requires strong organizational habits and time management.
Excellent customer service skills used to help Infrastructure and Technical Support teams
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Follows industry trends and developments. Will be leaned on for new ideas on process and product recommendations.
Ability to provide off-hours operational support on a rotating schedule.
