BidPal is looking for enthusiastic and guest service oriented individuals with a passion for working events. The BidPal Assistant supports the onsite Event Manager ensuring the successful execution of the BidPal technology throughout the entire event experience. This is a seasonal and hourly position. Events usually occur on weekends, with occasional weekday events and take place in the greater Baltimore area. A standard BidPal Assistant shift is approximately 7 to 8 hours starting in the afternoon and ending late in the evening.
Provide end-to-end support to the Event Manager and customer on behalf of BidPal for all BidPal related activities and complete tasks assigned by the Event Manager.
Assist with preparation for the event including BidPal technology staging and placement of signage at registration area and help desk.
Assist with auction item package audit & review to ensure technology and displays match accordingly
Assist with volunteer training on core bidding functionality, registration and device collection
During the Event:
Aid registration volunteers by staging devices, troubleshooting equipment, and answering questions when needed
Enhance guest experience through social interaction, proactive assistance, and troubleshooting in the silent auction area, escalating to BidPal Event Manager when necessary
Maintain professional, visible presence throughout the event answering guests' questions
Assist event manager with BidPal checkout and item pick up technology
Assist with device collection and coordinating volunteers when needed
Assist with equipment strike, equipment organization and event wrap-up
Event and/or customer service related work experience
College degree or pursuit of college degree preferred
Professional demeanor, outgoing, enthusiastic, proactive, independent, and socially intelligent
Ability to adapt and work quickly and calmly under pressure in ever-changing event environments
Excellent communication skills
Access to reliable transportation
BidPal assistants are often on their feet walking, standing, moving around the venue space with limited opportunities for long breaks.
