Description:Passport Health Communications, Inc., a nationally recognized pioneer developing innovative solutions for the healthcare industry and one of Healthcare Informatics Top 100 Healthcare Companies, is seeking a Business Analyst for Authorizations and Claims Services.
The incumbent will work closely with development team, implementation team, clients and other BAs to enhance and maintain authorization and claims services.
Duties:?Convert functional requirements into technical requirements and work with development team to complete projects.
?Interpret patient benefits from 271 and how they get applied an calculated. Such as deductible, co-pays, co-insurance and out-of-pocket maximums.
?Analyze hospital/HIS & payer data such as HL&, 271,837.
?Perform quality assurance analysis on patient access related projects.
?Monitor and identify trends or issues with incoming HL7, 271 data.
Other Duties as Required.
Qualifications:?Bachelor?s Degree in related field of Business, Health Information Technology or Statistics.
?3+ years in hospital experience in areas such as patient access, outpatient registration, and insurance verification.
?Full understanding of hospital revenue cycle and patient access unit workflow.
?Proven ability to read and understand eligibility data (270/271)
?Knowledge of medical coding: CPT, HCPC and ICD-9.
?Understanding of HIPPA requirements in relation to PHI.
?Data modeling and /or SQL queries.
?Experience working with patient accounts office is a plus.
?Experience implementing revenue cycle solution with any vendor.
?Excellent communication skills both internally and client facing.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
?Ideal candidate would have experience working with hospital IT department to maintain or implement hospital registration of ADT system(s).
?Previous experience as a product owner is preferable
?Ability to read and understand claim and adjudication data (837/835) would be a plus.
