THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Chief Financial Officer will be a member of the Company's senior management team, and will be expected to play a critical, highly visible role in achieving the Company's business objectives.
Provide strategic assessment of organizational performance against the annual budget and the long-term strategy.
Developing tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make recommendations on strategy and operations.
Planning for the capital needs of the organization and its development.
Providing the organization with forecasting and financial analysis and oversee the financing of current operations and strategic initiatives.
Leading development of investment strategy to ensure that the investments and resources are securely managed.
Manage the investor relations function and maintain relationships with all key investors and analysts. Lead quarterly and periodic analyst and investor calls.
Overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting system to ensure that all financial results are reported timely and accurately in compliance with GAAP and SEC rules.
Maintaining internal control safeguards in compliance with SOX and coordinate all audit activities; management of outside audit firm.
Managing cash flow and forecasting and optimize the banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash options.
Coordinate and assist the Audit Committee in the performance of its functions in a public company setting.
Provide regular financial reporting and analysis of results to the executive staff and the BOD. Develop measure and maintain key financial metrics. Work with the executive team to establish and maintain annual financial goals.
Effective leadership and management of small finance/accounting group.
Experience in managing facilities and information technology functions.
Education and Experience:
BA/BS in Finance, Business or Accounting. CPA and MBA preferred.
15+ years of experience including significant success as a CFO, in a public company (life sciences preferred), driving a firm wide financial planning and budgeting process, interacting with all levels of business leaders, providing financial expertise to build, monitor and evolve the financial budget as well as long range planning.
Thorough understanding of internal and external SEC and Nasdaq reporting requirements.
Demonstrated relationships with buy-side analysts and investment banks.
Successful history of scaling a growing firm, accurate analysis and forecasting, and the right process controls at the right time.
Extensive experience, with GAAP accounting structures and reporting requirements, firm wide internal financial management, internal controls, and accounting software systems.
Verifiable success as a business leader, providing value beyond traditional finance and accounting. Superior fund accounting and taxation experience required.
Outstanding project management, analytical, organizational, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills required.
