Role and Responsibilities:
Provides leadership support for large units with greater than 150 patients.
Responsibilities include compliance with existing laws and regulatory agencies, supervision and support of department staff, interdepartmental as well as intra-departmental coordination, develops and manages departmental budget, insures adequate supplies and equipment, assures a clean and safe environment and allocates and balances resources with workload.
Under the direction of the Clinical Manager works collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop the Performance Improvement Plan for the unit and models and encourages data driven decision-making.
Works collaboratively with other members of the Management Team to maximize efficiencies, minimize duplication, and ensure continuity of all processes in accordance with hospital policies, procedures and standards to provide comprehensive and safe patient care.
Assists with facility after hours responsibilities and accountable for the supervision and management of personnel and material resources necessary to maintain optimal functioning of the unit in the absence of the Clinical Manager.
Nursing degree: ADN or diploma is required. BSN or Master?s degree is preferred.
Management experience required.
Valid license as a Registered Nurse.
Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) preferred.
Over two years, nursing experience is required.
Demonstrated experience in personnel and budget management is preferred.
