Community Manager/Director Sermo
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED We are looking for a senior community manager or director to oversee growth and engagement of the Sermo community. The ideal candidate has 8-12 years of professional experience, including success managing a professional online community, is immersed in social media, and has abundant creativity and the desire to learn more about online communities. The successful candidate will be responsible for both driving acquisition of new members as well as encouraging ongoing, deeper activity of existing members.
? Immerse yourself in the Sermo community/membership needs, drivers, rhythms and personalities
? Participate in developing Sermo?s membership marketing strategy to achieve core KPIs related to community growth, engagement and stickiness
? Monitor and measure community health through periodic surveys and KPI reporting. Investigate problem areas, and take corrective action as appropriate
? Create and implement online (off- and on-site) marketing programs to drive member acquisition, participation and retention. Work with other divisions of WorldOne to maximize exposure of Sermo through all physician touchpoints.
? Conceptualize and execute new membership and partner marketing programs
? Oversee email marketing efforts, including design, delivery, performance assessment, and optimization to maximize results.
? Strategize and help implement WorldOne and Sermo?s social media presence on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn; conduct outreach to social networks and industry bloggers
? Interface with industry influencers, such as medical experts, healthcare organization leaders, and key journalists on behalf of Sermo
? Collaborate with the Engineering team to prioritize and deliver new community features and functionality. Develop business cases in support of prioritization. Stay current on Sermo?s competitive landscape and social media trends by attending industry events and conferences as appropriate
? Manage 1 employee to start, with opportunity for team growth as goals are achieved
? Must live in Boston or New York metro area. No relocation.
? 5+ years experience in membership marketing. Salary commensurate with experience
? Prior success driving significant level of new membership and/or member engagement from diverse online marketing initiatives
? Working knowledge of web analytics (esp. Google Analytics), email best practices, list segmentation, CMS tools, A/B testing and other optimization methodologies
? Knowledge of CAN-SPAM and other regulations/laws related to privacy and digital communications
? Analytical problem-solving skills balanced with the creativity to challenge convention
? Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
? Comfortable in an environment where priorities can shift rapidly; resilient and adaptive to change
? Enthusiasm to take on ambitious goals and over-deliver results
? Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
? 3+ years? experience managing direct reports
? Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including facility with Excel for analysis of quantitative metrics
? Immersion in social media and online communities, forums and social media
? College degree in Economics, Marketing, Communications or related field, MBA a plus
? Heathcare, pharma and/or physician experience preferred
? HTML skills a plus
? Graphic design skills a plus
? Google Analytics experience a plus
? Previous experience managing direct reports
