Overture is recruiting for a Consulting Engineer to partner with Product Line Management, Engineering, Professional Services, Marketing, and Sales in a customer-facing technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) role, showcasing Overture?s solutions. The position will have a lead role in identifying specific customers in North America with whom we can drive specific proof of concept (POC). From the investment we make in these POCs, we will ultimately build software / service-pack solutions. The Consulting Engineer will leverage these interactions with key customers and potential ecosystem partners, ultimately defining and bring to market reference solution architectures/use cases.
The successful candidate will have high visibility within a dynamic and fast-paced environment and will coordinate, lead and drive the presales and delivery elements of specific key customer pursuits.
This individual will also demonstrate the necessary communications and leadership skills to help develop Overture?s positioning around Service Creation, Activation and Assurance solutions which help our customers drive a world class ?customer experience? for their customers, while driving cost out of their current delivery systems.
Acting in a consultative, ?trusted advisor? role, providing technical pre-sales expertise and guidance, for our solutions, to targeted customer engagements
Actively participate as an (SME) within a cross-functional organization and provide consultative support to other Systems Engineers and Account Teams. Provide detailed written customer requirements to PLM and Engineering.
Maintain detailed knowledge of relevant Overture solutions sets, product and architecture specifications, performance criteria and applications for both Carrier Ethernet and solutions.
Contribute to thought leadership and share subject matter expertise with content generation in the form of white papers, customer visit summaries, solution briefs and RFI/RFP responses.
Keep up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions including technology, partnerships and product offerings.
Influence others outside of the team to ensure goals are met and conflicts are resolved.
Build external contacts and actively exchanges information in support of job accountabilities.
Build customized and perform technical presentations for customers, partners, industry events/conferences and prospects
Assist with the development of formal sales strategies and proposals related to olutions.
Pre-Sales experience bringing complex solutions (HW, SW, Professional Services) to market.
Experience as a Solutions Architect or Consulting Systems Engineer with a proven track record translating customer requirements into solutions that solve business problems.
Proven experience with API and middleware integration is a plus.
Excellent communications skills (written, verbal, listening, and presenting).
Ability to work effectively and add value as a team member. Strong problem solving skills: ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action.
Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent. CCNP, CCDP, CECP certifications strongly desired.
Potential for 50-75% travel (Customer locations and Overture HQ).
