DevOps Engineer Terracotta
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Terracotta is currently looking to hire a DevOps Engineer as part of our Engineering Infrastructure team. This is a 6 month contract position is located in our San Francisco office.
Terracotta is looking to for enthusiastic, knowledgeable and skilled professionals to support and manage engineering IT resources. This is a hybrid Dev/IT role that requires understanding of software development processes as well as IT administration skills. The role will require working with our infrastructure team to maintain build/test environments and to implement processes and best practices that will enable us to release high quality software faster and more efficiently.
Responsible for assuring uptime and reliability of development and test infrastructure
Monitor the engineering labs and work with IT, QA and Developers to identify and troubleshoot problems
Maintain and administer dev infrastructure services like SVN, JIRA, Jenkins, Confluence, etc
Automate management and monitoring of services and infrastructure
Work with engineering and IT to identify requirements for new hardware. Plan and deploy new IT infrastructure as needed
Ensure that failover mechanisms are in place and are working correctly
Configure and maintain hardware and software monitoring solutions to send alerts in case of service problems
4-5 years of system administration experience
Strong shell scripting skills and at least one other scripting language.
Understanding of software development processes like version control and continuous integration.
Working knowledge of Java software development tools and services like SVN, Maven, Jenkins, etc. is highly desirable
Proficiency in Unix/Linux system administration, especially in RedHat Linux (CentOS) environment
Outstanding troubleshooting and problem resolution skills required
Maintenance and upgrade of IT infrastructure in the office and data center
Ability to provide remote technical support
Familiarity with setup, configuration and maintenance of DNS (Bind), LDAP, Central Logging (syslog-Ng), SNMP and Monitoring systems (e.g. Nagios, Ganglia) and other reporting tools
Basic understanding of administering web servers, application servers and databases
Understanding of networking concepts
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Keen ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and prioritize numerous tasks
Energetic self-starter who shows personal initiative
Available for on-call and after-hours support
Experience with the following technologies is strongly preferred: Puppet, Xen, virtualization.
