Director of Finance & Operations
The Director of Finance & Operations will be responsible for overseeing the organization's overall financial structure, growth/expansion plans, policies and accounting practices, risk management, budgeting, audit, tax and accounting activities for the corporation.
This is very much a hands-on role and will require experience and facility with diverse corporate structures as it relates to both investment and consulting sides of the business. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, has strong interpersonal and communication skills, a flexible mindset and the desire to grow with a dynamic and evolving start-up organization.
--Financial management of the consultancy ledger as well as project control for firm engagements, profit and loss, spending and cash flows.
--Prepare engagement and/or client financial management reporting (pricing analysis, budget preparation, time and expense tracking, budget reconciliation and variance analysis, client billing and receivable collection, financial performance forecasting);
--Establish controls and ensure the quality and integrity of engagement and/or client financial records and reporting;
--Identify, address, and resolve engagement, contract management and compliance issues
--Summarize results and produce management reports
--Creation and production of financial reports relating to investments, profit & loss, spending and cash flows
--Investment reporting and performance analysis of equity investments
--Conduct valuation and due diligence as it pertains to investment prospects
--Primary liaison with outside accounting firm and portfolio company CFO's
--Monitor Maintain and enhance a system of internal financial controls
and implementation assistance for cash management investment policy
-- Responsible for implementing record retention policies
--Perform as a business advisor to the Owners
-- Contribute to the strategic long-term operating plan for the company
--Tax planning with Partner and external resources
Desired Skills & Experience
-- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance related field
-- CPA or MBA preferred
-- Industry experience in VC/PE Investments and/or Agency
-- Minimum of 10 years demonstrating career progression in Accounting/Finance
Compensation: 140k base
