This dynamic position will entail a broad range of activities focused on product and technology development in the area of III-V semiconductor optoelectronic devices. The successful candidate will solve complex technical issues related to the design and development of optoelectronic devices; be able to meet challenging performance, schedule, and cost goals; and exhibit a passionate focus on understanding and delivering on customer expectations. The ability to work in teams and lead project activities is essential to this role, as is a high degree of motivation, innovation, and independence. Ideal candidates will have the following specific technical expertise:
design, simulation, and performance analysis pertaining to InP-based photodetectors and/or diode lasers
superb experimental skills related to optoelectronic device characterization
a thorough knowledge of the technical literature on optoelectronic devices
a solid understanding of optical design, semiconductor device fabrication, and optoelectronic packaging is also highly desirable.
Relevant background for this position includes an advanced degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field; a minimum of 3 years of experience in III-V semiconductor device design; a proven record of accomplishment in optoelectronic device R&D; and U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status.

We are looking for opto-mechanical packaging talent that can help unleash the market leading performance of our lasers and detectors. The ideal candidate is one who is passionate about optical packaging and product delivery in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Experience in integration of optical chips, fiber, bulk optics, electronics and cooling to deliver high performance products is critical. Desirable functional skill sets include:
Opto-mechanics, including integration of lasers and optics
Mechanical design and thermal analysis
Materials engineering and process expertise in chip bonding, wire bonding, die bonding and laser welding
Preferred educational background includes a M.S. in Optics, Mechanical or Materials Engineering. A minimum experience of 5 years and U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status is required.
