The Electrical Test Engineer manages the test process and equipment as a member of the manufacturing team. He/she supports the introduction and transfer of new products into full production, while providing production support and sustaining released products. Duties include production test support, test plan creation, developing test programs, component level debug, test automation, documentation, test fixture design, test hardware, software for testing power supply modules. The Electrical Test Engineer ensures that Aspen?s products are designed for both testability and manufacturability.
Responsibilities include developing test processes and procedures that automate, design, improve and implement functional testing for new and existing products including documenting test requirements and detailed test procedures.
Design hardware and software for new test systems using avionics instrumentation and equipment.
Project scheduling, tracking, and coordination.
Support, collaboration and coordination of new engineering product development.
Responsibilities include effective verbal and written communication of results, which will be used to drive improvements in product design, production processes, and testing.
Supports execution of bench tests on production products.
Ensures customer technical issues are addressed in a timely manner and partners with the internal production team and external design team to identify, track to root-cause and resolve issues.
Engineering support for in-house technician troubleshooting.
Collaboration and support of Field Service and Customer Service.
Generate Statement of Work for new projects internal or outsourced to sub-contractors.
3+ years experience
Prior experience using bench and automated test equipment (oscilloscope, meters, supplies, etc.)
Experience with documentation and preparation of manufacturing and engineering drawings (i.e. test fixture, schematic, wiring diagrams, cable harness, CCA design files).
Working experience with Windows PC, Microsoft Office, Visio, etc. (familiarity with Mac OS is a plus)
Effective verbal and written communications skills
Avionics test equipment, products, system level integration
Federal Aviation Administration guidelines and best manufacturing and testing practices for aviation products
Graphical User Interface UI and Test Equipment driver development for test systems
PWB design (Cadence, OrCAD) and Gerber editing tools
LabVIEW (Run-Time Engine, Version 7.1 and Version 2011)
Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
