THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Facilities Technician is responsible for a variety of facilities-related projects including employee workstation set up and maintenance, furniture maintenance and procurement, equipment purchasing, inventory/supply maintenance, regular supply stocking, and sitting at the reception desk and greeting clients. The Facilities Technician must be detail-oriented, dependable, have a pleasant and professional demeanor and be able to manage multiple tasks for both office locations in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
Essential Functions Of Position, Duties And Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Other duties may be assigned. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
? Proactively purchase, maintain and stock inventory of all office and kitchen/food/janitorial supplies.
? Manage company phone system; includes administration of company cell phone plan and maintenance of internal voice mail system.
? Maintain copier and printer areas by ensuring that print toner, paper and supplies are stocked daily.
? Coordinate and set up new employee workstations, facilitate internal employee moves, maintain accurate seating charts.
? Administer employee key cards.
? Install, move, and maintain office furniture and equipment as needed.
? Perform minor building repairs. HVAC experience a plus.
? Coordinate major repairs with building management and contractors as necessary.
? Sort and deliver mail, UPS and Federal Express packages. Maintain accurate shipping records.
? Assist with shipping of equipment as needed. Packaging experience a plus.
? Coordinate catering and room requirements for various business meetings and internal events.
? Ensure that the main office and other buildings are locked and secure at the end of the day.
? Help maintain clean office appearance in all buildings.
? Liaison with cleaning company; making sure that the service level is maintained at its optimum.
? Manage and respond to employee requests for facility help.
? Work directly with on-site maintenance team/initiate service requests.
? Travel to Pleasanton office as needed.
? Work with legal department on new/existing vendor?s legal contracts.
? Work with building and fire inspectors.
? Other projects as assigned.
? Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
? Self sufficient with ability to discern when situations should be brought to supervisor?s attention.
? Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, balancing a varying workload with a short turnaround time.
? Proven ability to react to on the spot demands with ease and professionalism.
? Skilled at multi-tasking and making quick decisions.
? Strong communication, professional and interpersonal skills in person, via email and on the phone.
? Handyman tool experience, including basic hand held power tools.
? Able to safely use ladders, dolly's, push carts.
? Experience hanging white boards and other large scale equipment in offices/conference rooms.
? Basic audio visual knowledge. TV, projectors, conference systems.
? Familiar with phone punch down blocks a plus.
? Knowledge of Voice Over IP systems a plus.
? Experience with copy/fax and printer machines.
? Experience with postage machines.
? Experience with IIPP is a plus.
? Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio and Sielox?s Pinnacle Security software is a plus.
? Valid California driver?s license, proof of insurance and clean DMV is required.
This position is a physically mobile position. It requires the ability to navigate within an office environment, as well as assume unusual positions in order to perform work on equipment or furniture. It requires the use of a phone, calculator and computer, the ability to conduct meetings, and to drive. It requires the ability to maintain a clear, understandable speaking voice, capable of communicating vital business information to internal/external contacts, as well as accurate and clear vision and hearing. Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time, as well as stand for extended periods. Sufficient digital manipulation skills to utilize a computer keyboard and power and hand tools is required. Sufficient body dexterity to bend, stoop, and reach for or otherwise gather documents, files and other related office materials. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position essentially is an office/desk position, with no regular exposure to significant noise, heat, chemicals or extreme weather conditions, beyond typical ambient office conditions. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
