About the Job:
The Field Marketing Specialist is part of the Field Marketing team, and will report directly to the Sr. Field Marketing Manager. This is a role that requires a lot of organization and juggling of multiple deadlines, often working on several projects simultaneously. The primary responsibility of the role is to coordinate events for Twilio to be involved in. This requires research across multiple verticals and geographic locations, and coordinating and negotiating with event organizers. Involvement includes, but isn't limited to, speaking, sponsoring, demos, workshops, attendance and community support. You will be working across multiple marketing teams - product, PR, community, developer evangelism, channel and also the sales, business development and recruiting teams. You will be required to effectively capture leads from events, as well as monitor our event metrics.
With exposure to multiple teams, there will be plenty of opportunities to take on new projects. All candidates need to be very organized and detail-oriented, and have some exposure or experience in event planning and attending tech events. The ideal candidate will only be limited by their willingness to learn and grow professionally.
Research and qualify domestic and international events that Twilio should be involved in - conferences, tradeshows, hackathons, meetups, workshops and others.
Coordinate speaking and sponsorship opportunities with event organizers.
Work with Marketing Automation and Sales Development teams to manage and follow-up with event leads.
Work with Product Marketing and Design to position messaging for each event and create necessary collateral.
Work with Channel Sales/Marketing team to include partners in relevant events and drive leads to partners as well as support partners at their events.
Work with PR to research and coordinate speaking opportunities.
Work with Community team to promote events, generate content and engage with attendees.
Manage event leads, metrics and data.
Attend events (may include some nights and weekends) and educate attendees on our product offerings and network with the community.
Assist the Field Marketing team with designing and implementing new initiatives and projects, as necessary.
2+ years of marketing in technology or working in a startup environment.
You've successfully planned, organized and executed events - large or small (meetups, parties, outings, conferences, tradeshows, hackathons, etc.).
You're extremely organized and detail-oriented.
You get technology. Our customers are developers who often speak in jargon, and you can grok what they?re saying.
You are a proactive and thoughtful communicator, both over the phone and email.
You're a team player but can also work independently, make decisions and are not afraid to work without a safety net.
You're a proven DOer - you have led successful marketing campaigns (either social, PR, online, field, product, etc.) with demonstrable results.
You can work onsite in our office in San Francisco, CA.
You have experience coordinating enterprise-level events
You've effectively managed and worked with limited budget contraints. You understand ROI on a conceptual level and know how to effectively apply it towards event organization and involvement.
You've attended multiple hackathons, conferences, tradeshows and other tech events. You understand the landscape of tech events and are familiar with them.
You've applied analytics to areas that didn't have any.
