Are you an amazing systems engineer, familiar with the concepts of infrastructure automation and continuous delivery, who can also articulate business strategy?
The Field Solutions Architect helps the Opscode sales team present Chef, Opscode's infrastructure automation solution. An FSA demonstrates the benefits of configuration management and shows how Chef can help a company manage and scale their cloud resources, or implement continuous delivery successfully.
The FSA must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. The FSA is the primary technical resource for the field sales force and so are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, as well as actively identifying and managing any perceived or anticipated technical issues in implementation in order to assure customer satisfaction.
This position is expected to be based out of either Atlanta or Dallas, selling to the southern US. The position will be teamed with an account manager in the same area, and the two roles will work remotely.
Articulates Chef's fit to a particular customer's needs, identifying likely resources and constraints, as well as possible avenues for growth particular to that opportunity.
Responds to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
Develops and delivers highly technical, customized POC's and product demonstrations.
Generates implementation plans.
Represents the product to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
Acts as the primary technical resource for the Opscode sales team in responding to customer inquiries.
Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments in enterprise computing, infrastructure, and cloud computing provider industries.
Conveys customer requirements to Engineering/Product Management teams.
Travels throughout the sales territory. This position is expected to be based out of Dallas or Atlanta and serve the southern US.
3-5+ years relevant experience in vendor sales.
Demonstrated experience in systems engineering/administration or software development.
Understanding of or ability to learn quickly about configuration management tools and principles.
Ability to work directly with customers, building and maintaining strong relationships with them and committing to their success.
Demonstrably superb verbal communications skills, including a dynamic and engaging presentation style that inspires confidence.
Willingness to travel is a must.
Experience and familiarity of our products and line of business a huge plus.
A B.S. in Computer Science or a related field is strongly preferred.
