We are currently seeking an Field Support Engineer.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
Post-sales activity supporting DDN Storage Solutions across all market segments.
Develop a substantial knowledge of the company's product line.
Ability to install, support and debug product line.
Understand the Company processes and how to utilize resources to complete assigned tasks.
Participate in customer-focused seminars, tradeshows, events, and training.
Participate in and document customer installations, trouble ticket response, solutions designs.
Develop innovative solutions to customers' business needs.
Create installation status reports.
Provide weekly status report of activities to manager.
Ability to manage customer relationship post-sale issues.
Participate in weekly staff calls with manager.
Travel up to 50% required
Qualifications for this role are:
Independent thinker and self starter.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Able to take directions and see a project or task through to completion.
Team player who can work well with others or independently.
3-5 Years experience in Operating systems and debugging Linux and Windows Environments.
Red Hat, SUSE, Windows XP, Server, 2000,2003 and 2008.
Scripting (Shell), C++, Java, Perl.
Networking Certification or experience is desirable.
Experience in storage platforams and file systems is desireable
Ability to travel domestically.
