TokBox is looking for an experienced candidate to build and manage our sustaining engineering organization. The successful candidate will build a team that will be at the forefront of technical advocacy, customer support & service and serviceability of our cloud infrastructure and client SDKs. This is a high-visibility role in the organization with broad external and internal impact.
We are looking for strong leaders with real problem-solving and rigorous analytical skills. Position title will be commensurate with candidate?s experience and qualifications.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing the sustaining engineering team.
The sustaining engineering team will be responsible for isolating and identifying problems with customers, and for planning, implementing and working with the engineering/QA teams to release patches and critical bug fixes for customers.
Manage the function responsible for all inbound developer queries and handle customer support for all customers.
Partner with developer evangelism and BD teams to proactively engage with customers to help ensure the success of their early implementations and help with customer advocacy.
Debug code snippets posted by TokBox API users, working with Development and QA teams as needed.
Escalate bugs and feature requests to Product, Development and QA functions.
Analyze and identify trends and "problem areas" and work with engineering/ops/QA to help shape the technical roadmap.
Be responsible for evaluating and helping the operational team with real-world streaming/connectivity issues based on customer interactions and feedback.
Develop and ship diagnostic, debugging and performance tools to help support the platform.
Become a passionate evangelist for TokBox products.
Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science required.
Experience and ability to thrive and wear multiple hats in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
5+ years with sustaining engineering & support functions, including direct external interaction.
3+ years experience with managing teams and project management.
Player-coach mentality, demonstrated in approach to management, leadership and the job.
Customer-centric focus and ability to work with technical customers.
Hands-on and must be able to deep-dive into code and debug issues.
Proven track record of applying data-driven analytical skills to customer challenges.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with streaming technologies (RTP, RTMP) and WebRTC is a strong plus.
Experience with Object-Oriented programming a plus.
