Working in a progressive and goal driven culture, the HR Generalist will assist with the day-today management of employee activity (employee relations, recruitment, etc.). Assist in resolving employee relation issues and administer disciplinary actions, conduct post-employment activities, perform market studies, salary surveys, job evaluations, conduct employee training on sexual harassment and diversity, assist with the salary and performance appraisals, process reference checks, criminal checks, prepare new hire paperwork, manage contractor databases and assist with all other HR functions within Appriss.
oBachelor?s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience, or Characteristics
o8 years or more of experience in a managerial or HR role required.
oKnowledge working with requisitions, scheduling and conducting interviews, and pre-employment screening.
oSolid understanding of basic employment laws.
oKnowledge of HRIS databases.
oExperience in benefit preparation and administration, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, State & Federal regulations.
oProficiency in MS Office and Outlook.
oWell organized, detail oriented, and multi-tasking skills required.
oExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
oAbility to effectively handle sensitive and confidential information.
Helpful / Preferred
oPHR or other relevant certification preferred.
Functions and Responsibilities (?in addition to other duties as assigned)
1.Keeps abreast of federal and other regulatory statutes covering personnel and insures company compliance. Oversees preparation of government reports related to HR functions.
2.Administers various employee benefit programs such as group insurance, spending accounts, 401k Plan, Workers Compensation, COBRA and FMLA in accordance with state and federal regulations.
3.Administers the Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Programs.
4.Is aware of Affirmative Action Plan goals and objectives and takes appropriate action to help Company reach AAP goals.
5.Maintains Human Resource Information System records; completes salary survey questionnaires and compiles reports from database.
6.Develops/maintains written human resources procedures for benefits administration.
7.Assists with maintenance and utilization of Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
8.Acts as liaison between employee and benefits vendors to resolve benefit related issues.
9.Assist in the requisition process: schedule and conduct on-site interviews, pre-employment screening, deliver employment offers, and assist in on-boarding.
10.Meet and work with staffing agencies to fill contractor positions.
11.Coordinate recruitment efforts; including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and coordinating management interviews.
