Performance Specialist Internship with EXOS
We are seeking dynamic individuals that bring exceptional skills and abilities to our team, and have a passion for providing outstanding service to our elite clientele.
This is an unpaid academic internship. Work days are Monday - Friday varied hours and include part day Saturday on a rotating schedule. Hours are subject to change based on time of year and population of athletes in-house.
Our goal is to expose you to different philosophies and ideas and how they are integrated into our methodology and systems of training. We want you to learn how to evaluate the body in a more 3 dimensional format, understanding the entire kinetic chain and prescribing and implementing the best exercises and progressions to meet the individual needs of each athlete. Open your mind about all of the possibilities when training athletes--think outside the box and forget the cookie cutter approach. Daily duties and responsibilities include: facility and weight room maintenance, laundry, equipment set-up and break down, stretching, Juniors Program coaching, assisting the Performance Specialists as needed with various aspects of training and testing, and much more.

Culinary Nutrition Internship Duties: candidate will be assisting in all areas: creating menu items, preparing, cooking and plating food, nutritional analysis of menu items, ordering and receiving, maintaining a safe, clean, sanitized and organized kitchen, and customer service.
Position requirements: Senior status pursuing BS Culinary Nutrition/ Nutrition degree; excellent knife skills, Candidate needs to have an interest in clean healthy cooking, completion of Athletic Performance Cuisine. 2 years Restaurant cooking experience required.
WEEK 1: Orientation (Familiarizing student with the facility, program methodology, Food and Nutrition department and Registered Dietitians on staff. Introduction to specialized products and systems used (ex: Meal Builder system, Shake Bar, Athlete First Day Experience)
WEEK 2 -3: Food and Nutrition Services ? Train and work with Performance Nutritionist on Athlete Management system. Complete introductory Performance Nutrition projects for review by Registered Dietitian. Produce Nutrition analysis information, quantity recipes and produce weekly menu.
WEEK 4: Shadowing the Dietitian on an athlete evaluation day (including: assessment of current goals, needs, supplements, activity; body composition, 4-sided photos, meal builder creation, recovery recommendation creation, etc.
WEEK 5: Shadowing the Dietitian on an athlete evaluation day (including: assessment of current goals, needs, supplements, activity; body composition, 4-sided photos, meal builder creation, recovery recommendation creation, etc.
WEEK 6-12: Area of Concentration: To be discussed with the student and Facility Manager to gain more experience in areas of students focus, or areas student is assigned to. Work with the Chef to accomplish department goals
Interns will also rotate through various non-cooking kitchen responsibilities such as ordering and receiving, menu development, kitchen maintenance, safety and sanitation, and customer service as well as their cooking responsibilities , assigned projects and required school projects.

Do you provide housing? Housing depends on availability. We have a house shared by interns about 2 miles away, can not be guaranteed.
Is a car required/necessary to commute/public transportation available? A car is advised to enhance your experience since Phoenix is not a walking town. We do provide bikes at the Intern House.
What are the hours required to work? Spring, Summer and Fall: 7am to 5 pm Monday -Friday
Winter 6:45 am to 5 pm Monday ?Saturday (half day)
