Inventory Analyst Primary Functions
An Inventory analyst is the one who expedites and facilitates the flow of card products to and from various production companies to CVS distribution centers. They inspect and test products prior to distribution center delivery to ensure they level of quality, quantity, and to ensure adherence to product specifications. They work and deal with product owners directly to ensure the accurate and on time delivery of goods to appropriate CVS locations. Inventory analysts ensure that products are received at CVS distribution centers and that products flow correctly from distribution centers to CVS store locations. Inventory analysts work on several jobs at once and are responsible for many things. They frequently use filing, excel, and database programs to keep everything organized.
Inventory analyst Job Description
Inventory analysts expedite the inventory replenishment items at various vendors to meet the launch schedule. They track orders, ensure they are received, place products into inventory, ensure the correct flow of inventory to store locations, and maintain an adequate weeks of supply on hand for each product in the assortment, for each of CVS? distribution centers. They record and maintain inventory of quantity, type of card products, quantity received and distributed, manually or by using a computer. The Inventory analyst proactively confers with the Director to determine overdue card products and to inform personnel about the status of the product. The Inventory analyst should remain in contact with the product owners to make sure that the orders are placed and deliver, according to schedule. They also frequently check with CVS to ensure that delivery will be possible on the agreed date, and be received by the CVS distribution centers. The Inventory analyst is responsible for managing the timing of delivery to the distribution centers. The Inventory analyst is also responsible to ensure that the product is planogrammed in the CVS system correctly and that all target inventory levels are accurate to ensure the correct minimum product presence in store.
An Inventory analyst must be ready to solve problems and issues such as needing more card products than planned and provide CVS assistance in the correction of system errors, and the creation of purchase orders. They must always have a contingency plan available. If the Inventory analyst makes mistakes by buying or purchasing the wrong card products or if the card products don?t arrive in time, the work cannot continue and delays in a building project can be very costly to the category.
Examine documents, card products, and monitor launch/replenishment processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to timelines, standards and specifications.
Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
Revise production schedules when required due to plan changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, marketing, sales, production, and others as needed.
Confer with CVS personnel, and inComm customers to coordinate production and shipping activities, and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
Record production data, including volume produced consumption of raw card products, and quality control measures.
Requisition and maintain inventories of card products and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
Distribute production schedules and orders to various departments.
Compile information, such as production rates and progress, card products inventories, and maintain them weekly in an up to date fashion
High School Diploma, College Degree preferred
Ability to identify information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities.
Strong project planning skills
Knowledge of arithmetic and statistics, and their applications
Ability to use computer programs (expert level in excel or database programs)
At least 1 year experience in the CVS inventory planning, AIM or store operations
Great Communication Skills.
Change Management background
Client Services orientation
Strong Written and Oral Communications skills
Ability to engage the Category Manager and CVS personnel appropriately as per the needs of the product assortment
Ability to ensure the confidentiality of the account and other CVS business partners
