The Laboratory Technical Supervisor assists the Technical Director and Clinical Operations Director with the clinical, technical and quality programs in the laboratory in a manner that is consistent with the goals of Oxford Diagnostic Laboratories
Implements, maintains and oversees training, competency evaluations, induction and credentialing in the laboratory setting.
Audits and oversees quality control testing and maintenance.
Facilitates the execution of Proficiency Testing at ODL.
Assists in research and development projects as necessary.
Coordinates and conducts equipment repairs on equipment vital to the execution of testing on the T-Spot platform.
Designs, conducts and implements new equipment validations/verifications in the laboratory.
Consults line supervisors on technical issues in the laboratory
Conducts new customer demos and training
Develops, implements and evaluates business processes to perform the T-Spot test as a reference lab for customer hospitals and laboratories.
Create, consult, and contribute to the criteria and selection of equipment and processes to facilitate the automation of all laboratory testing.
Review and/or author SOP?s in support of the testing processes.
Supports customer labs in the introduction of the T-Spot platform by continuously evaluating and improving the efficiency of the laboratory operation.
Develops and implements equitable criteria and processes which meet company standards, for selection, evaluation, promotion and terminations of all staff within designated area(s) of responsibility.
Ensures compliance with regulatory standards, laws and requirements of requisite agencies by employing appropriate systems/processes.
Is accountable for projects, administrative strategies and information systems in support of clinical programs(s).
Leads individuals and work groups to continuously improve performance by creating an environment that ensures application of quality principles and techniques to achieve desired outcomes.
Creates an environment which fosters excellence, sensitivity and leadership.
Regular attendance and timeliness is essential
Maintains professional liaison with customer clinicians and laboratories.
Spends an adequate amount of time in the laboratory and is readily available for personal or telephone consultation.
Follows all company safety policies & other safety precautions within work area.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology including up to one year of practical training and four years of full time clinical laboratory experience.
Must have current certification as a Medical Technologist.
Must be eligible for or have an active TN license as a Laboratory Supervisor.
