The Lead QA Automation Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Aircell?s automation test system capabilities in order to test internal and third party supplied software running on Aircell? custom embedded hardware devices. Responsibilities include maintenance and expansion of automation tools, oversight of test script library, and performing automated testing.
Lead automated testing effort on Aircell?s flagship product and contribute to the enterprise system level automated test group.
Manage the development and enhancement of the test automation framework and associated test systems.
Lead the team in the test automation tool selection, design and capability enhancement.
Facilitate communications to onshore and offshore automation script development teams including changes and enhancements to the automation environment
Guide onshore and offshore resources in building, executing, and debugging automated tests.
Identify script candidates for test automation, prioritize based on return on investment and guide the team in the rapid development of scripts and test capability.
Conduct iterative testing of hardware and software development deliverables in a Scrum based Agile environment.
Provide test automation training to employees, contractors both onshore and offshore.
Conduct manual and automated testing.
Utilize HP Quality Center to coordinate test cases and test results.
Effectively and regularly communicate with direct management and project teams, as appropriate
Education and Required Experience
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
5+ years of Software and system testing experience using hardware and software tools.
3+ years of experience developing test automation utilizing a scripting language, preferably Python.
Industry experience in wired and wireless data communication, telecommunication and/or satellite communications, including IP, VOIP, and cellular protocols is preferred.
Experience working within an Agile development model is required.
Proficiency in Linux operating system environment and use of low-level Linux system tools.
Team -oriented leadership style and the ability work with a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
Experience working with off-shore development and test teams is preferred.
Satellite communication experience is a plus.
Flexibility and a positive attitude towards change in a fast moving environment is a must.
