The Lead System Analyst works under the direct supervision of the Team Manager. This position will be responsible for organizing, scheduling and delivering business/data analysis, technical specification documentation, report development/delivery and support of all internal and external projects, including metrics management. Defining and implementing new, or improvement to existing, processes. Close coordination with Support Project Teams, System Integration Specialist and Interface Engineer Groups will be required.
oBachelor?s degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience, or Characteristics
o3-5 years of related work experience.
oUnderstanding and the ability to apply project lifecycle (methodology).
oStrong analytical background is required.
oExperience with multiple platforms; including mainframe and client/server and the ability to identify the proper data fields and sources.
oExcellent verbal and written communication skills; including strong questioning and listening skills and ability to look beyond obvious answers and understand the impact on other areas.
oComputer Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other technical business management software such as MS Project or Visio.
Helpful / Preferred
oDatabase Administration experience.
oQuality Assurance experience.
oKnowledge of Agile Software development methodology.
oKnowledge of Visual Basic, SQL, and Windows environment.
Functions and Responsibilities (?in addition to other duties as assigned)
1.Manage the daily project tasks of the Systems Analyst Team to include organizing received work, scheduling and communicating timelines and monitoring the progress of those project tasks.
2.Collecting, understanding, and transmitting the business requirements for the project, and translating these into functional specifications and detailed test plans.
3.Partnering with clients to gather all requirements to formulate business specifications and translating those into application functionality; deciding when to advocate and when to compromise to arrive at a mutually acceptable solution.
4.Documenting workflows and results of business analysis and obtaining sign-off from client on specifications.
5.Assisting the technical team in translating application functionality into application architecture and the production of a System Functionality document.
6.Communicating the business directives, goals, and needs to the technical team; serving as client interface from IST managing user expectations and client satisfaction.
7.Designing and executing test plans to ensure that business requirements and functional specifications are tested and fulfilled.
8.Understanding the long-term business objectives and suggesting technical strategies to meet those objectives; introducing innovation to business processes through technology.
9.Assisting client in developing content or other materials; recommending enhancements and identifying new business requirements.
10.Applies knowledge of system capacity to determine feasibility of projects. Maintains current knowledge of new hardware and software and recommends upgrading to maintain efficient operation. Schedules and assigns work to programmers. Performs analysis of department production and redesigns workflow if appropriate.
11.Functions effectively in a team environment.
12.Assesses customer satisfaction levels and ongoing quality assurance measures.
