The Learning Content Developer will expand Avalaras capacity to support the demand for training and contribute to the development of learning content across our product lines. He or she will develop engaging learning content that impacts AvaTax users ability to understand and use our products quickly and effectively. The Learning Content Developer will work with the learning team members and business stakeholders to rapidly develop high quality learning developed in multiple formats.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about and have experience in developing and delivering customer training content in a variety of forms.
Interface with cross-functional teams to develop course specifications and gather course content.
Work with training team and SMEs to define, write and create learning materials using multiple channels: video, webinars, eLearning, labs, instructor-led courses, and other educational vehicles.
Participate actively in the organization of learning material we provide to customers, partners, and employees.
Update existing content based on required changes/updates and end-user feedback.
Be familiar with the latest training methodology, tools, and technology and apply it to your work as required.
Create and maintain course and image libraries.
Design a plan for evaluating the effectiveness of learning materials.
Actively participate in identifying, recommending, and implementing improvements.

Experience and Skills:
Minimum 2 years experience in instructional design and/or curriculum development, preferably in technology-based learning
Knowledge of layout and design principles to create interactive, successful learning materials that effectively convey concepts
Demonstrated ability to create engaging, interactive, and learning materials that support course learning objectives
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and an aptitude for explaining technical concepts to non-tech savvy people
Experience using Articulate and/or Storyline or other eLearning development tools to create technology based learning desired
Knowledge of e-learning technologies and deployment strategies is required
Ability to work in an autonomous and dynamic environment
Excellent analytical capabilities
Expert project management and demonstrated problem solving skills
Tech savvy, easy adopter of new technologies
Must be accountable and have excellent follow-through
Bachelors Degree or equivalent Accounting and/or accounting software experience a plus
