Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting the fabrication of composite and metal parts and assemblies.
Support design concept activities for part and tool fabrication and use.
Create part fabrication documentation as required to support manufacturing and quality.
Recommend and implement process improvements to improve part quality and reduce cycle time and cost.
Support the resolution of technical problems at the direction of engineering management.
Interface with customer engineering and part/raw material suppliers to resolve technical problems.
Perform red-line duties to parts on shop floor and implement engineering changes to parts in process. Address MRB conditions and recommend and implement corrective actions.
Support generation procedures that implement operational and/or fiscal policies.
Participate in change board activities.
Supports management in assuming all safety regulations are met and maintain safe working environment.
Maintains a neat and orderly work area and supports the company FOD program.
Supports other Aurora Flight Sciences sites as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (Education and Experience)
BS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Aerospace Engineering of 5 years minimum experience in composite fabrication field.
Ability to accurately deal with multiple tasks ensuring timely completion.
Basic CAD experience in any software package.
Intermediate to advanced experience with GD&T and blueprint reading.
Intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Hands-on composite part fabrication experience.
Metal part fabrication experience.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Education and Experience)
Working level experience with Visual Manufacturing program
Able to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds as well as consistently stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb and kneel
SHIFT REQUIREMENTS: (Specify if irregular work hours or shift work will be required)
Day shift with flexibility to work extended hours or other shifts as needed
