The Manufacturing NPI engineer will work closely with other members of the Operations Team, R&D, and other cross functional groups in the Sunnyvale, CA USA headquarters to develop strategies and processes to manage new product introductions. The leader in this position will provide manufacturing engineering support during the product development engineering process, as well as take on the role of the Operations Lead on projects leading to manufacturing releases. The individual will help develop the group?s NPI methods, processes, prepare project timelines for all Operation activities, identify resource requirements, manufacturing ramp-up needs, material status, as well as analyze and assess financials for manufacturing processes. This role is key to the success of Aerohive Networks as it will require to build winning processes to help Aerohive set up the overall strategy to define, develop, and implement the NPI activities while documenting scalable processes in Operations . The ideal candidate needs to possess a combination of Technical skills in product engineering, and project/program development engineering expertise as well as enough background in methods, processes, and project Management experience.
Responsible to establish and document the processes that drive the New Product Introductions (NPI) of Aerohive product portfolio, specifically communicate all Operations needs and ensure timely delivery of NPI activities.
Work closely with Aerohive cross functional teams to coordinate and develop strategies for introduction of new products.
Work with Program Management and manage the introduction plans and seamless integration of all products according to the product lifecycle.
Provide engineering support for all activities in the product development engineering process.
Monitor status of all product development and engineering processes and ensure effective execution of all Operation needs for projects according to required policies, procedures and government regulations.
Prepare plans for all NPI projects and coordinate with all stakeholders and ensure timely introduction of products with high quality.
Coordinate with engineering and product management departments and and implement Manufacturing Plan ramp-up for all products.
Assist the Operations Team and ODM Manufacturing departments as well as manage production planning activities and communication across all departments.
Develop product validation test plans and lead performing production tests according to the plan.
Monitor operations activities for all products and evaluate designs and ensure the adherence to all design and manufacture principles.
Support all product cost reduction initiatives pre and post product release.
Conduct MRB meetings to ensure proper disposition of product/materials in inventory.
Ensure compliance to all ECO procedures and work instructions.
Work with design engineering and assist in transition of design prototypes into cost efficient and high volume products.
Work with ODMs to analyze and drive corrective actions in case of any design or process failures.
Coordinate with senior management and maintain knowledge on product status and prepare appropriate reports.
Analyze and recommend improvements to all production process and methods to facilitate cost reduction and quality improvements.
Drive continuous improvement activities
B.S. Degree in a Technical Field or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent with significant experience in engineering and Project Management skills? minimum 5 years of engineering experience is preferred
Minimum 3 years working with Asian ODM (or CM) partners in an NPI capacity
Minimum 3 years test experience with a high degree of skill in network product testing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of networking products, preferable WIFI/RF products
Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and multi-task in a fast paced, rapid evolving environment
Demonstrated ability to work with ODM?s and suppliers
Familiar with Networks production Testing
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence for results.
Experience in wireless and/or switch products a plus
Process oriented, drive on all aspects of : DfM, DOE, SPC, APQP, etc.
Some Oversea travel required
