THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED DescriptionThe Vermont Teddy Bear Co., located in Shelburne, VT, is in search of a Marketing Coordinator to join the Bear Crew. This entry level position seeks an individual who will provide administrative support to the marketing department in mass media and catalog circulation to ensure the implementation of marketing strategies on a timely basis. This person would also assist the Director of Mass Media & Catalog Marketing by coordinating day-to-day administrative and marketing activities, including all radio, TV and print advertisements and catalog drops and will work on various other marketing projects as assigned; as well as develop a positive working relationship with VTB?s media reps, personalities and vendors. This individual will also assist with media buying, which will require obtaining a thorough understanding of the radio markets in several US cities in order to place optimal media buys throughout the year, maximizing return on investment. A solid knowledge of all mediums sought by the department is essential to support the team as well as coordination of the data feeds and quality control checks associated with each catalog drop throughout the year.
The individual must be energetic, self driven, an effective team player with strong communication skills as well as results-orientated with a positive outlook, accurate, creative, with analytical skills and efficient organization and time management skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
?Keep all media-related information organized, updated and accurate, including records of media buys, copy, station information and correspondence.
?Primary point of contact for internal customers initiating work within the department or checking the status of jobs already in progress.
?Support the coordination and execution of traffic instructions as well as tape distribution prior to and during TV campaigns.
?Coordinate content and updating of BOTA (www.bearsontheair.com). Ensure clarity and efficiency of the site for buyers, radio representatives and personalities.
?Negotiate media rates, which allow for profitable/optimal return on investment.
?Develop and administer promotional bear and PJ program and budget.
?Obtain complete knowledge of radio stations and personalities in major US cities.
?Interpret historical data in order to place the optimal media buys.
?Keep accurate and organized records of all media buys and assist tracking invoices and expenses against budget.
?Train personalities about our brands and key selling points.
?Communicate with media representatives and personalities to review performance, develop promotions and strategies, and continue a positive and mutually beneficial business relationship.
?Strive to continually improve market performance through both analytical and creative thinking, so that return on investment is improved year over year.
?Send suppression files, hotline buyers and hotline requesters to our service bureau for each catalog drop.
?Send segment and finder files to IT to upload to Avexxis Enterprise software.
?Complete segment check on key codes and quantities and send back to printer for each drop.
?Complete state profiles by brand after each drop for accounting.
?Provide monthly transaction updates to co-op databases.
?Approve monthly house updates and List Rental Fulfillment files from service bureau.
?Administer all list management order approvals.
?Distribution of catalogs to internal stakeholders.
?Superior attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with strong decision making skills required.
?Responsible for SOS (Share-Our-Staff) participation as required during Peak Periods: December, Valentine?s Day and Mother?s Day.
?Will follow all ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by VTB and the department.
?Perform other duties as assigned.
?Bachelor?s Degree in Marketing, Sales or Business or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
?Experience as a marketing coordinator for an advertising or PR agency or company with multiple concurrent projects preferred.
?Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
?Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
?Strong analytical and creative capability as well as high energy and outgoing personality are musts.
?Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public.
?Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment both internally and externally.
