Mechanical analysis and design of highly complex grid-scale energy-storage products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Detailed design and specification of piping systems and components employing knowledge of ASME B31.3, and ASME BPVC Section VIII, Div1, and using appropriate modeling tools
Responsible for P&ID generation and maintenance
Pneumatic and hydraulic component specification and selection including pumps, heat exchangers, filters, valves and otherpiping and process elements
Perform detailed compressible and incompressible fluid process flow calculations, including conducting Finite Element Analysis and performing mechanical simulations
Analyze system pressure losses and track to budget
Component-level lab testing and validation
Supervision of system assembly and problem resolution
Actively participate in system safety reviews, FMEA
Identify and pursue cost reduction opportunities
Work closely with manufacturing personnel to address production line issues
Work with service organization to address issues in deployed systems
Work closely with engineers, technical and supply chain staff across functional areas
Other duties as needed or assigned
Master?s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering plus one year of power or process industry experience. Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include one year in each of the following:
o Design of pneumatic and hydraulic pressure equipment and systems;
o Analysis and design of unfired pressure vessels per ASME BPVC Section VIII, Div1; and,
o Piping and process equipment design per ASME B31.3.
Position also requires following:
o Demonstrated knowledge of performing mechanical simulations using ANSYS, Matlab or other similar tools;
o Demonstrated knowledge of or course work in AutoCAD Inventor or SolidWorks 3D modeling tools; and,
o Demonstrated knowledge of or course work in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
In the alternative, will also accept Bachelor?s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering plus five years of experience as outlined above, as well as demonstrated knowledge and coursework as described.
