Essential Job Functions
?Perform and process semi-monthly payroll and payroll related transactions, including but not limited to input of new hires and terminations, employee changes (deductions, addresses and dependents).
?Manage workflow to ensure all payroll and payroll related transactions are properly reconciled and processed timely prior to transmission.
?Identify and resolve payroll processing issues by conducting routine audit procedures. Request stop payments, reversals of direct deposit and issuance of manual checks, as necessary.
?Review and ensure proper multi-jurisdiction taxation is in accordance with state/local/city regulation.
?Process IRS and court orders, including child support garnishments, tax levies, federal bankruptcy orders, and student loan garnishments.
?Have in-depth knowledge of wage and hour laws in order to ensure proper overtime payment and record keeping.
?Analyze and update payroll process and make recommendations for process enhancements.
?Prepare and reconcile corrected W-2 forms at year end for current and terminated employees.
?Track and process bonus payments and 401(k) transmissions to 401(k) Plan administrator.
?Work with and provided payroll and payroll related audit requests to Company?s external auditor on an interim and annual basis.
?Create journal entries for accounting.
Technical Skills/Qualifications Required:
?Expert knowledge in use of the ADP application, including but not limited to ADP PayExpert and ADP Reporting.
?Strong knowledge in multi-jurisdiction state/local/city taxation.
?Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel/Word/Outlook.
?Strong work ethic and team player.
?High degree of professionalism as it relates to sensitive/confidential matters.
?Decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills.
?Working knowledge of Great Plains (accounting general ledger) is preferred.
Previous Experience Required:
?5+ years experience and a proven track record in a similar corporate role, including expert knowledge of payroll processes using ADP. Must possess exceptional hands on functional expertise, including technical payroll knowledge and legal/tax knowledge relating to payroll.
?Proven track record in problem solving and experience with initiating process changes.
?Solid analytical skills and understanding of payroll processes.
Education Required (Certifications, Degrees, Majors, etc.):
?Bachelor?s degree required and at least five (5) years of relevant experience in automated payroll operations required.
?Certified Payroll Professional highly preferred (CPP) but not required.
