You will have product management responsibility for Silver Spring Networks? core network technology and the network interface card product line. In this role, you will be responsible for defining innovative product strategies, working with Engineering and leading cross-functional teams to deliver world-class products, supporting sales and evangelizing these products with customers and partners, and actively manage business performance for both revenue and profit growth.
The role of Product Manager, Network Infrastructure Products is a key position that will shape the future of our company and the energy industry by introducing new innovations to improve the efficiency of our electricity system. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Product Management for Network Platform and DA, and will play a pivotal role in defining the future of Smart Grid networking products.
Formulate and execute strategy with cross-functional teams and partners.
Analyze product market segments and perform competitive analysis of those segments; drive strategies to increase product benefits in target segments.
Translate and prioritize customer and market requirements into product requirements.
Lead and manage cross-functional product teams to deliver market leading features, products and services; through all phases of the product life cycle.
Identify and develop partnerships necessary to offer a complete solution in the market place.
Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for Silver Spring Networks' network infrastructure products, both internally and externally.
5+ years experience in Product Line Management of networking/communications products, and a proven track record of building high quality products and delivering successful results. Ability to absorb and synthesize information quickly and effectively to learn about a new market, with strong technical aptitude, and a good balance of analytic and intuitive decision making. Forward looking - able to anticipate the direction of the market. Data-driven ? able to back up product and pricing strategies with analytical depth.
Good understanding of RF technologies and semiconductor technologies as applied to RF/analog mixed signal silicon.
Strong understanding of wireless and wireline networking technologies: 802.15.4, ZigBee, 6LOPAN, WiFi, CDMA, GPRS, LTE, WiMax, IP networking, and routing protocols.
Demonstrable experience with product management techniques; product positioning, manufacturing practices, and managing full product lifecycles.
Comfortable working with component and chip-level vendors and technical trade-offs, and at the same time able to drive product strategies to advance sustainable differentiators at the networking level (software/firmware).
A balance of discipline and agility, with a mix of established company and start-up experience. Embrace change and ambiguity - responds well to changing situations.
Team-centered, collaborative mindset
Strong evangelist and spokesperson for the products and the company. Demonstrated track record of successfully working with the sales force to close and support large complex customers.
Strong individual contributor with leadership potential, who is able to establish technical subject matter expertise, build consensus with technical constituents, and yet owns a strong point of view and is able to influence, inspire, and motivate. Searches for opportunities to improve without guidance, not afraid to challenges the status quo, and is responsive to all stakeholders.
Results-oriented - able to focus cross-functional teams on achieving common goals, manage competing priorities, and balance strategy and attention to detail.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Experience in utility/energy industry a strong plus
Technical bachelor's degree is required. MBA is preferred.
