Product Manager User Acquisition Craftsy
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Company Description:
Craftsy.com is a Denver-based start-up at the intersection of online education, social communities, and e-commerce. We produce HD-quality classes in quilting, sewing, knitting, cake decorating, and more. The Craftsy platform enables passionate crafters around the world to learn from expert instructors ? anywhere, any time ? and to easily interact with instructors and classmates as they do. Learn it, make it, and even share it on Craftsy.com, by posting projects for inspiration and feedback or selling in our free-to-list indie patterns marketplace. Just over a year old, with 100+ classes and over one million users, Craftsy is already a leader in the online education space ? and there?s so much more to come!
Craftsy?s parent company, Sympoz, was founded in May 2010 by an experienced executive team from eBay, Yahoo!, and ServiceMagic. The leadership is strong, and supports every employee in building and moving the company forward each day. We learn on the fly, and respond quickly to user feedback and ideas. The office is fast-paced and fluid, with the long hours start-ups are known for. But we like to have fun, too: like any good start-up, there are video games, rock concerts, and bottomless snacks.
We?re looking for a highly analytical, self-directed, and motivated Web product leader to help us attract and monetize new members; this includes understanding viral acquisition strategies and conversion funnels, identifying opportunities for growing traffic and improving conversion/click-thru and other metrics, and engaging with business stakeholders to continuously test, improve, roll-out and optimize acquisition flows and features.
Lead strategy and execution of projects to grow membership via viral tactics, improved conversion rates, optimized flows, and a honed funnel for member acquisition paths.
Collaborate with Engineering and Marketing teams to define, prioritize and execute a roadmap of tests and features designed to acquire and activate new members through online channels.
Manage development process milestones from end-to-end - from defining requirements, to concepting and coding a solution, to QA testing and reporting on results.
Maintain expertise in user needs and behaviour by analyzing user data and competitive sites, and applying insight from functional business teams (e.g. Marketing, Production, Customer Support).
Analyze and interpret site data and trends through rich and deep data analysis, research (quantitative & qualitative) to identify gaps and opportunities.
Proven track record of A/B testing, viral growth planning, and quantitative measurements to guide user acquisition approaches.
Proven understanding of the drivers of friend referrals and willingness to recommend for customer acquisition. Ideally experience in implementing refer a friend program with proven results.
Proven ability to collaborate with creative and engineering teams to build online solutions.
5+ years experience with hands-on product execution required to build and grow a business.
Proven analytical skills and enthusiasm for data-driven decision, with a preference given to candidates with a knowledge of SQL.
Start-up experience or other experience with accomplishing a lot, quickly, with limited resources.
Prefer a candidate whose resume indicates he/she has excelled amongst an elite peer group.
