The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the activities associated with new product introduction into manufacturing and other business related management functions. Utilizing project management disciplines, you will help plan, organize, lead, and monitor the activities of teams while assuring overall adherence to requirements, schedules, budgets, and defined deliverables. Activities and considerations will include but are not limited to: core-team meeting leadership, engineering schedule management, subcontractor management, internal project optimization and reporting, budgeting and man-loading support, preparation for manufacturing, site planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, document, and facilitate the obtainment of schedules, requirements, and budgetary targets relating to DSC products. Ensure that project information is kept up-to-date, provide regular status updates to stakeholders, and prepare reports of issues and actions for senior management.
Provide effective leadership for company projects, including communication, execution, and coordination of project activities.
Work with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies, remove or mitigate roadblocks & conflicts, act on issues of non-compliance, and facilitate communications among all project stakeholders.
Ensure effective tracking of outstanding deliverables, milestones, and change requests.
Support and be the primary point of control for the engineering product development process.
Assist in the coordination and the administration of engineering & operation resources allocated to projects to maximize efficiency and meet necessary deliverables.
Work with management to set budgets and assist in resource planning to achieve strategic business objectives related to projects.
Assist in the development of project tracking and reporting mechanisms to ensure compliance with control processes, and communicate to management any issues that may threaten the schedule, cost, or performance of a project.
Propose and review changes to existing processes in order to maximize efficiency while shortening timelines.
Assess and recommend improvements to the design control process based on industry best practices and lessons learned
Coordinate the implementation of process improvements.
Coordinate project gate reviews, core-team reviews, and other project related meetings and presentations as assigned.
Maintain and enhance an effective project management process to remain compatible with the company?s growth environment.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
B. S. degree in technical field - Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering preferred.
5 years experience in project planning and scheduling in an environment with full exposure from design to delivery of new products.
Proven experience in product design and development at some point in career.
Team player with the ability to work in a faced-paced multi-disciplined product development environment.
Ability to work closely with all key stakeholders to communicate progress and facilitate buy-in.
Proven track record as an innovative and resourceful problem solver.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to motivate and drive team members through their ability to influence
Proficiency in goal management and task prioritization to meet overall project deadlines.
Experienced in the utilization of analytical skills to resolve problems. Ability to analyze data, determines root cause, provide solutions, and implement.
Proficiency with MS-Project, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Excel, and MS-Word.
Strong time management skills.
Superior communication, presentation, reporting, and analytical skills.
Leadership and motivational ability.
Excellent decision making abilities.
Ability to travel (up to 25%)
PMP Certification highly desirable.
MBA or advanced degree.
Experience in planning, assessing, and implementing new business systems
Experience with product development with one or more of the following: lasers, cameras, fiber optics, electronics, embedded software, UI software
Experience in interactions in a dynamic, fast-growth corporate environment.
Ability to frequently sit, reach within hands and arms length, climb, and crouch.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of computer monitor screens a great deal of time.
Frequently required to use office equipment such as PC, copier, etc
Individual?s primary workstation is located in an office with daily interaction in the production/manufacturing/lab areas and occasional travel to off-site locations.
