MediaMath is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sales Engineer with exceptional communication and technical skills to handle pre-sales and implementation for MediaMath?s advertising accounts. In this critical role, the sales engineer will serve as a technical expert/advisor in all phases of the ad sales life cycle process, from web advertising, creative consulting to technical sales support and technical implementation and troubleshooting to QA and project-based web development. You will work directly with our sales & account teams to showcase the value proposition of MediaMath?s products. You will work directly with client teams to implement MediaMath?s proprietary technology. You will also be required to work directly with the MediaMath engineering team and resolve issues. Not only should you have exceptional technical aptitude, but you should also be a confident presenter who can prepare and present technical material to both business and technical audiences.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to sales and account teams to assist in developing sales pitch, closing sales, and completing implementation of MediaMath accounts? advertising campaigns
Prepare and deliver live product demonstrations to prospective clients in conjunction with the Sales team
Work directly with client teams to identify business goals, opportunities, and online marketing objectives and assure highest level of implementation of the MediaMath platform
Define technical requirements and specifications for online marketing programs and custom solution development
Provide subject matter expertise to MediaMath account teams and clients in terms of best practices and capabilities to ensure on-time trafficking of campaigns, troubleshooting, and quality assurance
Understand and communicate MediaMath?s test and learn strategy to clients and partners securing enthusiastic cooperation
Iteratively work with senior management and sales/marketing to refine product vision
Be an expert user with respect to the MediaMath platform / various partner platforms
Brief and train all other MediaMath employees on platform usability
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant equivalent work experience
3-5 years of experience with online advertising technology and systems or equivalent experience
Must demonstrate understanding of advanced campaign management, tagging, and reporting
Intimate understanding of ad serving technology (DART, Atlas, Right Media) and cookie based attribution in order to architect non-standard campaigns.
Experience needed managing complexities ranging from client setup work, artfully convincing clients on the benefits of integration, through to building custom databases.
3-5 years of experience with implementing technical solutions for customers
3 years of experience with technical pre-sales or the equivalent including live on-site and remote product demonstrations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong consultative sales skills, personable, charismatic, solutions oriented, creative thinker
Technical background, with experience in ad serving, yield management, databases, web-friendly UI strongly preferred
Desktop and/or server-side scripting experience using one or more languages (Perl, Ruby, Python, C/C++, Java, etc.)
Passionate about marketing, no fear of numbers
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
Must be able to travel 10 - 20% of the time (frequent day trips, semi-regular overnights required)
