Senior Desktop Support Technician ON24
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED A Senior Desktop Support Technician is responsible for supporting the Windows based systems at ON24. This includes all Windows servers, desktops and laptops. Senior Desktop Support Technicians work with ON24?s IT staff to ensure the highest degree of functionality and reliability among Windows servers and desktop computers. He / She will build, setup, maintain, implement, and troubleshoot technology problems related to Windows servers and desktops that affect end-user productivity. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, can work under stressful conditions, can multitask and possesses solid technical, production and customer service skills.
Taking a leadership role for the group and guiding less experienced administrators through complex technical problems and building their skill set will be an important aspect of this job. The expectation is that this role will support the more complex helpdesk requests and work projects with the senior IT staff.
Shared responsibility for the entire Windows Desktop, Laptop and Server Infrastructure (500+ Desktops, 250+ Laptops and 250+ servers) .
Responsible for maintaining, upgrading , patching and the ongoing administration of Exchange email servers, domain controllers and all other Windows server-class machines.
Participate in design, architecture and implementation plans for server infrastructure
Administer Exchange, backups, Symantec virus protection, remote access, and Windows security & critical updates.
Provide Tier 2 technical support to ON24?s end user community, which includes desktop support and resolving helpdesk issues for internal and remote employees.
Act as a mentor and lead to the current helpdesk/support staff (3 employees in addition to this position).
Some on-call/off hours work will be required.
Expert level Windows 7/Windows XP experience;
Windows server administration experience;
Mid level Active Directory experience ;
Mid level experience with Exchange 2007/2010;
Experience automating repetitive tasks with windows scripting (WMI, ADSI, PowerShell);
Experience with application packaging and OS deployment tools;
Windows performance tuning, trending, and analysis;
Server architectures, hardware, RAID;
Experience in HA computing and networking (eg. Microsoft Clustering);
Experience with running Windows server in virtual (VMWare/XenServer) or cloud environments;
Application & OS security, including virus scan management;
Network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP), hardware & software network security, name services, load balancing;
Experience with management and monitoring tools (Altiris, SCOM, SCCM);
Experience with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services);
Experience with network attached storage devices;
Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows server systems interoperability.
Experience with Cisco Call Manager;
Experience/Knowledge of Windows Media Services and Flash Media Server is a plus;
Ability to learn quickly and tackle new and technically complex problems with courage and tenacity;
Must have demonstrated ability to approach emerging problems quickly and with flexibility;
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing needs and requirements;
Must be detail-oriented and be an organized thinker who is service-minded with strong communication & customer service skills;
