THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Rubicon Project Demand team is seeking a Senior Director of Demand Sales based in San Francisco to work with top buyers including agency trading groups, DSPs, and ad networks in the Western and South Central region. Reporting to our VP of Demand Sales, the position is an opportunity for a senior contributor to enable buyers to use the Rubicon platform to purchase digital inventory from our publishers during a critical inflection point in the industry for advertising automation, private markets, mobile, and programmatic guaranteed buying.
Primary responsibilities are to expand Rubicon?s demand presence on the west coast, be an industry leader, and drive preference for Rubicon?s platform with business, product, agency, and technology customers. A balance of consultative and transactional selling skills is required. This opportunity is tailor made for a senior individual with a balance of media and technology aptitudes, while having a strong passion for automating advertising at a large scale.
A seasoned and aggressive sales producer with experience navigating west coast buyer segments including demand side platforms, agency trading units, audience networks, and large ad networks.
Coordinate private market deal opportunities with customers, publisher departments, management, product, tech, and operations teams.
Exhibit a deep understanding of mobile & desktop display market trends, opportunities, and challenges ? and how they impact Rubicon?s market strategy.
Strong interpersonal skills: a charismatic and practical sales leader to earn the respect and relationships of executive and operational level demand partners.
Represent Rubicon at Industry events and seminars.
BS/BA degree, MBA preferred
5-10 years of advertising network, technology, platform, data, or exchange sales experience required.
Must understand the needs of our customer category (ad nets, DSP, trading desks) as well as their operating agencies and brands (our client?s clients).
A consultative, educational sales approach consisting of QBRs, roadmaps, joint business planning, and REVV product sales.
Adept at working within intense business and industry environments while knowing how to translate complex products into tangible customer benefits.
Strong interpersonal skills when aligning with product, publisher sales, service/operations, and senior management
Sales process aptitude: activity tracking, pipeline management, and forecasting.
Prior positions to include VP or Senior Director level in tech, media sales, or business development.
Travel will be required for this role (West Coast, Texas, some East), but primary accounts will be located between California and Pac NW.
