The Production Control System Administrator reports to the Director, Technology Shared Services and is responsible for managing enterprise level production control services in a large production environment. The selected individual will work within an IT Automation group which is responsible for scheduling, designing, and operating production control jobs for the enterprise. The jobs are scheduled against a variety of systems including Windows, Oracle, SQL and any additional systems brought into the enterprise.
Manage enterprise level production control services.
Design, develop, and support production control jobs.
Schedule, design, and operate production control jobs for the enterprise.
Diagnose and resolve problems remotely or locally, providing technical assistance for site-specific applications/scripts, software upgrades and ensuring automation functionality.
Troubleshoot failed batch processes in a server-client-database environment.
Perform basic server administrative tasks such as connectivity troubleshooting, navigation among files and permission/security tasks.
Ensure that production scheduling system agents and systems are secure and functional.
Write or modify scripts to enable new processes and design.
Troubleshoot data transmission problems and issues.
Meet timelines, milestones, deliverables and provide timely (weekly) status
Understand and follow established processes and procedures including Change Management, Work Tracking and Time Management.
Bachelors Degree in Information/Computer Technology or a related technical discipline.
5+ years of experience in Computer/Information Technology or related field.
5+ years of experience with hardware, networking and application interactions.
5+ years working in a large production environment.
5+ years of database experience a must.
Expertise in troubleshooting windows server applications.
Knowledge of data transmission protocols such as SFTP, HTTP.
Working knowledge of Active Directory, Window domains and file permissions structure.
Superior understanding of complex instructions and interpretation of scheduling alarms and exit status messages.
Ability to provide on-call and backup support and to work non-core hours when requested.
Exceptional listening, analytical and problem solving skills; great attention to detail.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical users.
Foster a sustainable IT infrastructure by cross training team and providing functional documentation.
5+ years using enterprise scheduling software such as Automic/UC4, ActiveBatch, or Control-M.
3+ years working with object-oriented programming techniques and service oriented architecture.
