Defines, plans, designs and codes software components, units, and modules that meet product specifications. Ensures that the team meets the development schedule deadlines. Leads the technical team in the testing and debugging of components and units. Participates in large systems and subsystem planning. Adheres to product build and release schedules and strategies. Acts as a technical resource for lower-level software engineers.
BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline
8 years of experience in overseeing software development efforts
PhD and 4 years of experience
MS and 6 years of experience
AA and 10 years experience
High School/GED and 12 years experience.
Software Language Experience could include knowledge of:
Excellent communication skills
Able to work independently and in a team environment
Certification might be required, depending on program requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to the following:
Full lifecycle application development
Designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages.
Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis
Software modeling and simulation
Front end graphical user interface design
Software testing and quality assurance
Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation.
Support, maintain and document software functionality
Integrate software with existing systems
Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
Project Planning and Project Management
Maintain standards compliance
Implement localization or globalization of software
Prepares comprehensive test plans
Conduct tests, identifies and debugs relatively simple problems
Provides test results and recommends more complex corrections to senior developers
Codes enhancements and supports features
Participates in writing product and user documentation
Other duties as assigned
Possible team leader responsibilities depending on project size and requirements
