Vocus is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join a dynamic team of technology professionals in our Site Operations department. This person will be responsible for the delivery of effective engineering solutions for our Data Centers, Storage, Servers, Virtualization, and Networks that address business and operational goals. In addition, this person will partner with Operational Leaders and Management to establish criteria, prioritization, and execution to ensure proper transition from Engineering to Operational areas for project delivery and production support. We are looking for someone who will lead the triage of escalated complex technical issues, mentor, coach and challenge operational team members and monitor and improve quality of service and operations through metrics, seeking continuous improvement of overall operational procedures and infrastructure.
10+ years of experience with a depth of IT experience, supporting enterprise customers that includes data center and network operations, and storage in a 24 x 7 operations environment.
Previous extensive experience in a hands-on mixed Windows and Linux environment
Candidates with Windows only experience will be considered
Must be a visionary, leader, and driver of technology
Experience supporting multiple data center environments while working with cross functional operational teams that include Systems Administrators, Engineers, Database Administrators, Security, and Network Engineers
Experience with SAN based systems
Experience with virtualization and automation
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Understanding of and experience with ITIL specifically Incident Management, Change Management, and Continual Process Improvement is preferred
Experience working for a SaaS company is preferred
