OverviewThe Senior Technician position is responsible for performing and documenting, per cGMP practices, the maintenance and calibration activities required for the for Aprecia?s solid dosage development and manufacturing facility.
The duties include operation, maintenance, and calibration of the facility, utility, and manufacturing systems. Utility systems include but are not limited to HVAC, BMS, Compressed Air, Boilers and Low Pressure Steam System, Standby Generator, Chilled Water, Process Gas Systems. Assigned tasks will include preventive and corrective maintenance which include general plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. Activities also include device calibrations, equipment troubleshooting, etc.
The objective of this position is to work with other facility, manufacturing, and lab personnel to ensure that products are developed and manufactured in an environment which focuses on safety, quality and effective manufacturing, utility, and facility processes. This position is compensated on an hourly basis and will require the employee to be "on-call" at designated times each month.
Description of Duties1.Utilize technical knowledge to troubleshoot problems as they occur with utility, facility, and manufacturing systems. In order to accomplish this, the individual must have working knowledge of a range of equipment.
2.Perform and document all assigned preventative maintenance and work orders on equipment/systems per schedule and in accordance with approved procedures and cGMPs.
3.Perform routine facility walk downs and inspections to confirm proper operation of equipment.
4.Monitor Building Management System and respond to GMP and non-GMP alarms. Provide on-call response (24 Hr. emergency response on a rotational basis) during non-working hours.
5.Assist supervisor, as required, when preparing deviation reports, corrective actions, and change controls.
6.Provide field insight to supervisor pertaining to improvement of SOPs, Preventative Maintenance Job Plans, Logbooks, etc.
7.Maintain training records/documentation on all required training.
8.Maintain cleanliness of the facility.
9.Document the use of spare parts in all PMs and Work Orders. Provide support and feedback on required critical spare parts.
10.Analyze and maintain proper water chemistry on all boiler systems.
11.Provide electrical, plumbing, or mechanical services for new installations as required.
Minimum Requirements?5-10 years of mechanical hands-on experience.
?Previous experience in a GMP manufacturing environment is preferred.
?Previous hands-on experience with refrigeration systems and calibration activities is a strong positive.
?2-4 years Vo-Tech training.
?Technical knowledge of the operation, monitoring and maintenance of utility systems including HVAC, clean compressed air, low pressure steam, chillers, etc.
?Technical knowledge of the operation, monitoring and maintenance of pharmaceutical solid dosage processing and packaging equipment.
?Demonstrate interpersonal qualities allowing the candidate to work with multiple departments/personalities.
?Working knowledge of Excel and Word a strong positive.
