The SEO Editor will work across the Analytics and Publishing teams. The role will be equal parts content editing and SEO development/analytics, using the latest SEO techniques to help better inform the publishing process and edit existing content. The SEO Editor will also coordinate experimentation across network content to push SEO performance and competitiveness. Typical duties include conducting web site search traffic analysis and keyword research; providing strategies for SEO improvement; and coordinating SEO experiments with editors to drive continued improvements to performance. He/she will also be developing SEO website assessments and recommendations and translating them into technical requirements. In-depth knowledge of SEO and online media is required.
Lead the coordination and documentation of SEO experimentation within the publishing team.
Lead keyword generation for all targeted Wetpaint properties through keyword research.
Update, analyze, and distribute weekly SEO dashboard and drive ad-hoc reporting needs.
Support and optimize sites through basic moderation, Google Analytics research, new content seeding, keyword adjustments, reworking article titles/tags/body, and content analysis.
Research sources (blogs, websites, etc.) to develop SEO best practices.
Skills and Experience:
2+ years demonstrated experience in data-driven publishing (familiarity with Google Analytics ideal)
2+ years experience SEO copywriting/editing in a highly data-driven environment
1+ years experience writing/editing for a magazine-style website (preferably in entertainment)
